Ihr Implantat-Wartungsprotokoll

Implantat-Nachsorge

In the first days after surgery, mild swelling and tenderness are normal. Follow the specific instructions your clinician gives you: eat soft foods, keep the area clean as directed, avoid smoking, and take any prescribed medication as instructed. A little care in this window protects everything that follows.

Over the following weeks the implant integrates with your jawbone — a process called osseointegration — which is what makes it a permanent foundation rather than a temporary fix. During this phase we keep the area under review and confirm the implant is stable before the final crown or bridge is fitted.

Brush twice a day with a soft brush, cleaning gently along the gumline where the implant meets the tissue.

Clean between the teeth daily — interdental brushes or floss designed for implants reach the surfaces a brush cannot.

Use any hygiene aids your clinician recommends, such as a water flosser around full-arch or All-on-4 restorations.

Keep up your routine even though an implant cannot decay: it is the surrounding gum and bone you are protecting.

Avoid smoking — it is one of the strongest risk factors for problems around an implant.

Do not use the implant to bite very hard objects, and mention any grinding or clenching so a night guard can be considered.

1

Professional cleaning around the implant

A hygienist cleans around the implant with instruments that will not scratch its surface, removing the hardened plaque a home routine leaves behind — typically every six months, or at the interval set for you.

2

Checking the fit

The crown, bridge or abutment is checked for any looseness, and a screw is re-tightened to the correct torque if needed. A small adjustment now prevents a bigger problem later.

3

Bite (occlusion) adjustment

How the implant meets the opposing teeth is checked and fine-tuned. Overloading from an uneven bite is a leading cause of long-term implant problems, so this check matters.

4

Radiographic review

A periodic X-ray lets us monitor the bone level around the implant over time — usually once a year, or as your clinician advises — so any change is seen before it can be felt.

5

Soft-tissue health check

The gum around the implant is assessed for early inflammation (peri-implant mucositis), which is reversible when caught early and is the stage where maintenance does the most good.

Warnzeichen — wann Sie uns kontaktieren sollten

Bleeding, swelling or redness of the gum around an implant

Persistent tenderness, discomfort or a bad taste that does not settle

The crown, bridge or denture feeling loose, moving or clicking

The gum receding, or the implant feeling different when you bite

None of this is cause for alarm — early inflammation around an implant is common and usually reversible. It simply needs to be seen, not waited out. If in doubt, contact us.

Wie wir mit Komplikationen und Nachbehandlungen umgehen

Every honest implant practice manages some complications — no clinic that places real implants has a zero-failure record, and the difference between a clinic that looks good and one that is good is whether it explains how failures are handled rather than pretending they never happen.

When something needs attention, our process is the same each time: assess the implant and the tissue around it, identify the cause — infection, an overloaded bite, hygiene, or incomplete integration — and agree a remediation plan with you. That may be non-surgical cleaning and closer recall for early inflammation, a re-tightened or remade restoration for a mechanical issue, or, in the uncommon case an implant does not integrate, removal, healing, and a fresh attempt.

The guarantee on the implant itself belongs to its manufacturer, and because your implant passport records the exact system placed, those terms can be applied wherever you are. The rates behind all of this — complications managed, retreatments, remakes — belong in a quality report published with its period and method, not asserted as a marketing number; that is the report we are building toward.

Ihr Implantatpass reist mit Ihnen

You leave with an implant passport recording the brand and serial numbers of the implant placed. That record is what lets any dentist, anywhere in the world, continue your maintenance and apply the manufacturer's terms — your aftercare is not tied to being back in the same chair.
