Safety & Hygiene

The Highest Standard of Sterilisation & Patient Safety

Every instrument. Every patient. Every time.

Patient safety is never left to chance. Dental Med Austria works under ISO 9001 quality management and European infection-control protocols, with rigorous sterilisation that meets the standards patients expect from leading clinics in Switzerland, Germany and the UK. For more than 30 years our team has delivered safe, predictable treatment for 24,000+ patients, supported by documented protocols, premium CE-marked materials and a 98% implant success rate. Cross-infection control - the principle that nothing passes from one patient to the next - runs through everything below: every instrument, every surface, every appointment.

Every instrument is sterilised after every patient

Every reusable instrument follows the same documented reprocessing cycle before it reaches your treatment room. Nothing is reused without completing all of it, and each cycle is logged so the instruments used in your treatment can be traced back to a specific batch.

  1. 1Pre-cleaning to stop debris drying on
  2. 2Ultrasonic cleaning of every surface
  3. 3Rinse, dry and visual inspection
  4. 4Sealing into an individual sterilisation pouch
  5. 5Vacuum steam autoclave sterilisation
  6. 6Batch logging for full traceability
  7. 7Sterile storage until the pouch is opened in front of you

Every treatment room is fully reset

Between every appointment the room is disinfected and reset, so nothing that touched the previous patient carries over to you. Sterile instruments and fresh disposables are opened only once you are seated.

  • Dental chair, operating light and delivery unit
  • Control panels and work surfaces
  • All clinical contact equipment
  • Single-use barrier protection on high-touch points

Single-use means single use

Wherever an item can be used once and discarded, it is - opened fresh for your appointment and never reused between patients. Afterwards, sharps go straight into sealed, puncture-resistant containers and clinical waste is separated from general waste for correct disposal.

  • Needles and anaesthetic cartridges
  • Suction tips and cups
  • Gloves, masks and protective eyewear
  • Barrier protection and surgical consumables

Clean water, clean air

The water that cools instruments and rinses your mouth is kept clean under European water-line hygiene protocols that control biofilm. The air delivered to the treatment chair is clean, dry and oil-free, and suction is maintained the same way.

Hand hygiene & protective equipment

Our clinical team follows strict hand-hygiene and PPE practice throughout every appointment: hands are cleaned before and after treatment, and fresh gloves, masks and eye protection are used for every patient and changed between patients. Simple, disciplined hand hygiene is among the most effective infection-control measures in any clinic.

Sterile implant surgery

Implant placement is carried out as a dedicated sterile surgical procedure, planned digitally for precision. Every implant is supplied with an Implant Passport recording its brand and serial numbers, so the exact component placed in your jaw is documented and can be verified with the manufacturer - by you, or by any dentist, anywhere in the world.

  • Sterile surgical drapes and gloves
  • Sterilised surgical instruments
  • Single-use surgical consumables
  • Digitally planned positioning from a Vatech CBCT scan
  • Navident guided surgery, where indicated

Verified materials you can trust

The implants, ceramics and biomaterials placed in your mouth are premium, CE-marked products from manufacturers trusted across Europe. Each can be verified independently through your treatment documentation and serial numbers - genuine, traceable materials are a safety matter as much as a quality one.

Why ISO 9001 matters

ISO 9001 isn't simply a certificate. It means every critical clinical process - from sterilisation to infection control - is defined, documented and monitored, and performed the same way every time rather than left to memory. That consistency is what turns careful protocols into dependable patient safety.

Safety questions, answered

Is dental treatment safe in Albania?

Safety depends on the clinic, not the country. Dental Med Austria follows the same internationally recognised infection-control protocols and ISO 9001 quality management used by leading clinics across Western Europe: sealed sterile instruments, between-patient disinfection, single-use disposables and documented processes, applied to every appointment - backed by 30+ years of experience and a 98% implant success rate.

How are your instruments sterilised?

Every reusable instrument is ultrasonically cleaned, inspected, sealed in an individual sterilisation pouch and processed in a vacuum steam autoclave, which draws air out of hollow and wrapped instruments so steam penetrates completely. Each cycle is logged for traceability, and instruments stay sealed and sterile until they are opened at the chair, in front of you.

Are your implant materials genuine?

Yes. Every implant is supplied with an Implant Passport recording its brand and serial numbers, so the exact component placed in your jaw is documented and can be verified independently with the manufacturer. The ceramics and biomaterials we use are premium, CE-marked products, traceable through your treatment records.

  • Documented protocols
  • Verified materials
  • Complete traceability
  • Rigorous sterilisation

Care you can verify, in a clinic you can trust

Documented protocols, verified materials and complete traceability - the same infection-control discipline you would expect from a leading clinic in Switzerland, Germany or the UK.
