Verifying an ISO 9001 certification
ISO 9001 is a quality-management standard: a clinic does not certify itself, an accredited certification body audits it and issues the certificate. That is exactly what makes the claim checkable — the certification body, not the clinic, is the authority you verify against.
- 1Ask the clinic for its certificate. A genuine certificate names the clinic, the standard (ISO 9001), the certification body and a certificate number with validity dates.
- 2Identify the certification body on the document — ours is TÜV NORD.
- 3Check the certificate in the body's own public register. TÜV NORD operates online certificate databases where a certificate's authenticity and current validity can be confirmed.
- 4Confirm the details match: clinic name, standard, and that the certificate is still within its validity period.
Verifying an ITI membership
The International Team for Implantology (ITI) is an independent, non-profit academic association in implant dentistry, founded in 1980 and headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. It is an association of individual clinicians rather than of clinics, and it does not publish a public register of member clinics — so verification runs through the clinic and through the organisation itself:
- 1Ask the clinic which of its clinicians hold ITI membership and in which national Section. A genuinely affiliated clinic can answer in writing.
- 2Confirm with the ITI directly — the organisation is reachable through iti.org.
- 3Treat the membership as what it is: a professional-education affiliation that signals work inside published, evidence-based treatment guidelines — not a licence, ranking or outcome guarantee.
Where Dental Med Austria stands
Quality management at Dental Med Austria is ISO 9001 certified by TÜV NORD, and the clinic is a member of the International Team for Implantology. Both claims are documented, with links to the official bodies, on our Certifications & Standards page, and the background to the ITI itself is on our ITI membership page.
In the spirit of this page, one honest note: we have not yet published a scan of the certificate or its registry number here. Until we do, the certificate is available on request through any contact channel — and its details can then be checked against TÜV NORD's register exactly as described above. We would rather you checked than took our word for it.
The same verify-it-yourself logic extends to what we place: every implant — from the Straumann and other systems in our implant catalogue — leaves with an implant passport whose serial numbers can be verified with the manufacturer, as documented on our Le Passeport Implantaire page.
