What an implant "guarantee" actually is
When clinics advertise a “warranty” on dental implants, two very different things get blurred together. The first is the manufacturer's guarantee: a written program from the company that made the implant, covering the component itself — the titanium fixture in your jaw — against defects and failure, on the manufacturer's own terms. The second is the clinical work: the surgery, the planning, the prosthetics. No manufacturer guarantees that, and a clinic that promises a blanket guarantee on biology is promising something medicine cannot deliver.
This page deals only in the first kind, because it is the kind that is real, written down, and independently verifiable. Every implant system we place is a documented, CE-marked product from a named manufacturer, and the guarantee that travels with it belongs to that manufacturer — which also means it stays valid wherever you live, not only in the clinic that placed it.
Manufacturer guarantee terms, system by system
These are the manufacturers' guarantee terms on the implant systems placed at Dental Med Austria, as stated in the documentation supplied with your implant. They are the manufacturers' programs on their own components — not a clinic warranty, and not a promise about clinical outcomes.
| Implant system | Manufacturer | Guarantee term | Published program |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straumann BLX | Straumann (Switzerland) | À vie | Straumann® Guarantee |
| Straumann BLT | Straumann (Switzerland) | À vie | Straumann® Guarantee |
| ETK Premium | Euroteknika (France) | À vie | Per manufacturer documentation, provided with your implant |
| ETK | Euroteknika (France) | 20 ans | Per manufacturer documentation, provided with your implant |
| Alpha-Bio | Alpha-Bio Tec | 10 ans | Per manufacturer documentation, provided with your implant |
Terms as stated by each manufacturer for the systems we place; the exact conditions that apply to your implant are the ones in the written documentation delivered with it. Other CE-marked systems we place, such as Biodem and DETECH, are likewise supplied with the manufacturer's own documentation and any terms it states. Manufacturer programs typically require genuine components and an identifiable, documented implant. For system-by-system pricing, see our published price list.
What every guarantee requires: a documented implant
A manufacturer guarantee is attached to a specific component, so it is only usable if that component can be identified beyond doubt. That means two things must be on record: the exact system placed, and its serial numbers. This is precisely what the implant passport issued with every implant at Dental Med Austria contains — the brand and the verifiable serial numbers of the component in your jaw, which you or any dentist, anywhere in the world, can check directly with the manufacturer.
Without that documentation, even a genuine premium implant is effectively anonymous: no dentist can prove what it is, and no manufacturer program can be applied to it. With it, your implant remains identifiable and serviceable for the rest of its life — independently of us.
- The exact implant system, named in writing
- Verifiable serial numbers for the component placed
- Checkable directly with the manufacturer, by you or any dentist
- Valid anywhere in the world — not tied to one clinic

The honest caveats
A guarantee covers the component; it does not guarantee your biology. Whether an implant integrates and stays healthy for decades depends on bone quality, general health, smoking, oral hygiene and follow-up care — factors no manufacturer program covers and no honest clinic promises away. What can be said soberly is that the systems themselves are documented: long-term published clinical studies of the systems we place report high survival — a 10-year retrospective study of 1,692 Straumann tissue-level implants, for example, reported 98.23% implant-level survival. Those are the systems' documented track records across large patient groups, not a promise about any individual case.
Dental Med Austria does not sell a warranty of its own, and we think you should be cautious of clinics that do. What we commit to instead is concrete: placing documented, CE-marked systems whose manufacturers stand behind them, handing you the paperwork that keeps those manufacturer terms usable for life, and following up on your treatment.
- Guarantees cover the component, on the manufacturer's terms
- Clinical outcomes depend on health factors no program covers
- System survival is documented in published long-term studies
- Your documentation is what keeps any guarantee usable
Survival figure cited: retrospective study of 1,692 Straumann tissue-level implants over 10 years (Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, via PubMed), reporting 98.23% implant-level survival at 10 years.
Implant guarantees, answered
Do dental implants come with a warranty in Albania?
The dependable guarantee on a dental implant is the manufacturer's own program on the component, not a promise invented by a clinic. At Dental Med Austria every implant we place is a documented, CE-marked system, and you leave with the manufacturer's documentation and an implant passport recording the exact brand and serial numbers — which is what keeps any manufacturer terms usable, at home or abroad.
What guarantee do Straumann implants have?
Straumann operates a published guarantee program — the Straumann Guarantee — under which its implants are covered for replacement over the patient's lifetime, subject to Straumann's own terms, including the use of genuine Straumann components. The terms that apply to your implant are the ones in the documentation supplied with it.
What does an implant guarantee actually cover?
The component. A manufacturer guarantee typically covers replacement of the implant fixture (and, depending on the program, certain prosthetic parts) in the event of a defect or mechanical failure, under the manufacturer's conditions. It does not cover biological outcomes, and it does not usually cover travel or the clinical time of retreatment — which is why we state guarantees soberly instead of using them as a marketing headline.
What do I need for a manufacturer guarantee to be usable?
Documentation. A guarantee attaches to a specific, identifiable component, so you need the system name and its serial numbers on record — exactly what the implant passport we issue with every implant contains. With it, any dentist anywhere can identify the component in your jaw and deal with the manufacturer; without it, even a genuine premium implant is effectively anonymous.
Is a high implant success rate a guarantee?
No, and it should never be sold as one. Survival figures come from published clinical studies of implant systems — long-term studies of the systems we place, such as Straumann, report survival in the 95–98%+ range over 10 years. Those are documented outcomes of the systems across large patient groups, not a promise about any individual case: your outcome also depends on bone, general health, smoking, oral hygiene and follow-up.
