Traceability & proof
A dental implant passport is the manufacturer's traceability document for the implant in your jaw: the exact system, diameter, serial number and lot number of the component placed. Dental Med Austria hands one over with every implant — so what was placed can be verified directly with the manufacturer, by you or any dentist, anywhere in the world.

IMPLANT PASSPORT
Issued with every Straumann, ETK and Biodem implant
Your proof of quality
After your surgery, every implant we place — Straumann, ETK or Biodem — is handed over with the manufacturer's official implant passport: the exact system, diameter, serial and lot number of what is in your jaw, verifiable directly with the manufacturer, anywhere in the world.
A dental implant is a manufactured medical device, and like any serious medical device it is serialised at the factory. The implant passport is the document that carries that identity out of the operating room and into your hands: which system was placed, at which diameter and length, under which serial and lot number, on which date.
Systems such as Straumann and ETK are among the most extensively documented implant lines in published clinical literature, with survival data spanning decades of studies. That body of evidence attaches to a specific, identifiable product — which is precisely why the passport matters: it is the link between the implant in your jaw and the documentation behind it.
Without the passport, an implant is anonymous metal. With it, the component is traceable from the factory that machined it to the jaw that carries it — and verifiable by anyone, at the source.
Traceability & proof
01
The manufacturer and product line placed — e.g. a Straumann BLX or an ETK implant — so any dentist knows exactly which system, and which prosthetic platform, is in the jaw.
02
The physical dimensions of the implant body. Essential when a crown, abutment or screw needs to be matched to the implant years later.
03
The unique identifier of your individual implant, assigned by the manufacturer at production. This is the number a manufacturer can look up.
04
Ties the implant to its production batch — the mechanism behind manufacturer quality control and, in the rare event one is issued, a field-safety notice.
05
When the implant was placed and by which clinic, completing the chain from factory to jaw.
06
With the system, serial and lot in hand, the component can be checked directly with the manufacturer or its national distributor — in any country.
Verification does not depend on the clinic that placed the implant, on Albania, or on us. It runs directly between you (or any dentist you choose) and the manufacturer:
Traceability & proof
Every implant line in our portfolio is CE-marked and serialised by its manufacturer, and every placement leaves the clinic with its passport in the patient's hands.
Straumann
The Swiss gold-standard implant system - the most clinically documented in the world.
Manufacturer siteBiodem
CE-marked German implants with a personal implant passport and verifiable serial numbers.
ETK
A French premium implant with 30+ years of clinical heritage and the iPhysio prosthetic platform.
Alpha-Bio
A widely-documented, CE-marked implant system, placed where the treatment plan calls for a proven, accessible option, and issued with its own manufacturer implant passport.
DETECH
A CE-marked implant system offered as a dependable, accessible choice, documented and traceable like every implant we place.
Several of the systems we place carry the manufacturer's own guarantee programme, under the manufacturer's own terms — as communicated by the manufacturers: 10 years for Alpha-Bio, 20 years for ETK, and lifetime for ETK Premium and for Straumann BLX/BLT. These are manufacturer programmes, not a clinic warranty; the implant passport is the document that identifies your component under them. Details are set out in each manufacturer's documentation, provided at consultation.
An implant is intended to stay in place for decades — far longer than most people stay with one dentist, one city or even one country. Over that span, the single most useful thing you can own is the identity of the component in your jaw:
Traceability & proof
The passport is the final step of a documented chain: sealed, serialised components opened at the chair, recorded at placement, and handed over before you leave — under the same quality system that governs the rest of our clinical work.
Implant passport with verifiable serial numbers for every implant
Documented implant systems with aftercare and follow-up
ISO 9001 quality management
European hygiene protocols
Rigorous sterilisation protocols, every instrument sterilised after every patient
FAQ
It is the manufacturer's traceability document issued with a dental implant and handed to the patient after surgery. It records the exact implant system, its diameter and length, and the serial and lot number of the component placed in the jaw — so the implant can be identified and verified directly with the manufacturer at any time.
Take the system name, serial number and lot number from your passport and contact the manufacturer or its distributor in your country — Straumann, ETK, Biodem, Alpha-Bio and DETECH all operate official customer-service networks. Alternatively, any dentist anywhere can perform the same check on your behalf; the identifiers are standard across the profession.
Yes. Every implant placed at Dental Med Austria in Tirana — across the Straumann, ETK, Biodem, Alpha-Bio and DETECH systems — is handed over with its manufacturer implant passport carrying verifiable serial numbers, as part of the clinic's documented traceability workflow.
Because dental tourism only works when care can continue at home. With the passport, a dentist in any country can identify the exact system and dimensions in your jaw, order the matching prosthetic parts, and verify the component with the manufacturer — without contacting the original clinic or guessing.
No — it is a traceability document, not a clinic warranty. Separately, manufacturers operate their own guarantee programmes under their own terms — communicated by the manufacturers as 10 years for Alpha-Bio, 20 years for ETK, and lifetime for ETK Premium and Straumann BLX/BLT. The passport is what identifies your component under any such programme.
