A temporary crown is a custom-made provisional worn over your prepared tooth while the final crown is being created.

Once a tooth is shaped to receive a crown, the prepared surface is left exposed and sensitive, so we fit a provisional to seal and shield it until the definitive restoration is ready. Each temporary is custom-made to match the contour of your tooth, maintaining your bite, your spacing, and the natural appearance of your smile in the meantime. It is a small but essential step that protects the underlying tooth from temperature, pressure, and bacteria, and keeps the neighbouring teeth from drifting while your permanent crown is being made.

Our provisionals are crafted from PMMA, a hard-wearing dental acrylic chosen for its smooth finish, comfortable fit, and reliable durability over the short term.
